Nainital is a small, serene town in Uttarakhand — a crescent-shaped lake at the centre surrounded by forested hills. The hills are dotted with houses, hotels and offices.
The hill town, situated at an altitude of 2,084 metres above sea level, looks surreal in the rain, as I found out this monsoon.
As dark clouds hovered over the Naini lake at dusk, a young couple paddled their duck-shaped boat across it.
Later in the evening, after the sun sets, the hills are lit up and the lights are reflected on the lake.
From a view point up in the hills, you can get a complete panoramic view of the Naini lake.
